Attention

Not only did Obama get twice as many votes as Clinton in South Carolina today, and not only does he manage to respond with grace and wit and brains every time somebody says something bad about him, and not only is he turning the Democratic party into something intensely exciting...

but get this: at barackobama.com, the "Republicans for Obama" stickers are on back order.

I can't help myself. I have a ridiculous crush on this man. So do a lot of people, apparently.

I've had my eye on him from the beginning...and it says a lot that I'm still liking him!! At this point, usually all the candidates have bugged me to the point that I'm picking the lesser of two evils...but not so with him.

Just to clarify, I'm not actually a Republican (I wasn't looking for that sticker in particular). I'm just wicked excited about a candidate who feels like the very definition of non-polarizing.

But cool! Thanks for visiting, Republican for Obama!

I'm in. I REALLY wanted the first woman President, but Obama has sold me, plus idiot Bill Clinton has sabotaged Hillary's entire campaign (what a butthead). I can't wait to see Obama run in the general election - can you imagine how he would wipe the floor with Mitt Romney? If it's McCain vs. Obama, I can start to sleep at night. I'd prefer Obama, but I could live with McCain. But Romney? Yikes! Huckabee? Double yikes!! Giuliani? Are you KIDDING me?

In a fit of pre-Super Tuesday political procrastination, I have both hillaryclinton.com and barackobama.com open, side by side. I dove straight for the issues, trying to cleave the "what I want you to hear" from the "what I actually believe". Beyond the words, I get this sense: Hillary would make a fine president in that she knows the right hands to shake and babies to kiss and has a phenomenal education and background to boot.

Then again, Barack actually stands out. His charisma springs from more than JFK-style good looks, but good ideas and inclusive dreams. I can't say whether he'd be a great president on his merits, but maybe a great leader on his ideals.

I dunno...maybe I've drunk the Kool Aid, but I think I know which chad I'll punch tomorrow.

And have you watched the half hour Philly speech on race in America? Oh my GOD I had chills. I still have chills. Even my almost-two year old loves him. She calls him Rock O'Mama, but hey, not bad. Come to think of it, she's closer to correct than a lot of grownups!
